Our tax & accounting firm was established to provide efficient, expert solutions and tax saving strategies to businesses and individuals.

Our expertise lies in tax planning, consulting and audit representation for IRS audits, state audits, sales tax audits, workers compensation audits and transient occupancy tax (TOT or hotel bed tax) audits. We also specialize in collection Issues such as installment agreements and offer in compromise.

Prakash Katara started his career with Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Officer in Collection Division in Los Angeles. After working there for 3 years, he crossed over to Field Examination Division, as a Revenue Agent, in Laguna Niguel District.

While working in there he acquired experience of conducting audits for small and Medium sized businesses. As part of his duties, he also trained and coached other Revenue Agents and accepted assignments of classifying tax returns for audit at the Ogden Service Center. He also worked as Acting Group Manager for 2 years and was promoted to Grade GS-13.

He won many Special Acts and Performance Awards, both in Collection as well as Examination Division, while working for the IRS. After working for IRS for 18 Years, he decided it was time for him to venture on his own and serve public by starting his own practice. He joined forces with his wife, Dipika (Donna) Katara and formed Accurate Accounting & Tax Services, Inc.

Besides acquiring his Certified Public Accountant’s license in 1999, he also acquired an Enrolled Agent’s certificate from the IRS in 2005.

His expertise lies in the areas of IRS & State Audit Representation & Collection Solutions, Tax Planning, Tax return Preparation, Business Start-ups & Incorporation, LLCs & LLPs.

Before coming to the United States in 1981, Prakash graduated from South Gujarat University in Surat, India. He obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting and Auditing and also completed 3 semesters of Law.

Prakash Katara, CPA and EA, is a Former IRS agent of 15 Years. He also worked in IRS Collection for 3 Years. He started working as the President of this firm in 2006.

He specializes in IRS audit representation and tax planning. He has successfully represented the clients in several states. He also specializes in workers comp audit, sales tax audit and transit tax audits for hotels and motels.
